Before we get into it, Imma just say it again. How bout that HYPE ME UP portion???🔥
"I said, guys, we didn’t come here for no reason. I said, guys, this is ours, man. All the adversity we went through the first few quarters, it was ours to take. And like I’ve been saying, we control our own destiny. And those men looked me in my eye and they said, ‘We got this, Jameis.’ And I said. . . we said. . . I said, ‘Are you strong?’ They said, ‘I’m strong if you strong.’ I said, ‘We strong, then.’" - Jameis Winston
Team organization and structure is super complex and is what is probably most responsible for how efficient a team can move. I think of it as the wheels of a car, there are multiple, specific orientations that work well, but an infinite number of inefficient combinations. *big brain moment right there🧠
We've luckily gone through a trial and error process and also reflected after each iteration. Unsurprisingly, the most important parts that were touched on repeatedly was accountability and communication in the form of knowing what is going on with your own and other's work as well as creating a more interwoven communication system (ex. more mandatory meetings, access to a calendar, functioning to-do list). Then, we determined that a medium sized team around 4-5 people was the easiest to schedule around and feel highly committed to. And of course, we also wanted to have more fun/team building meetings!
With these in mind, we came up with this amazing diagram! We'll be looking forward to optimizing this in the next months!
